Erin Nealy Cox is a leading expert in cybersecurity and a trusted advisor to companies on issues of enterprise risk and governance. She currently serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors for Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. Sally Beauty is a publicly traded international retailer and distributor of professional beauty supplies with revenues of $3.8 billion annually.
Prior to her board appointment, Ms. Nealy Cox served as an Executive Managing Director at Stroz Friedberg, a global leader in investigations, intelligence and risk management (a wholly owned subsidiary of Aon). In this capacity, she led the Incident Response Unit for Stroz Friedberg. She was responsible for leading the overall operations of the entire business unit across the world, including supervising the first responders, threat intelligence analysts and malware specialists. These responders were deployed to assist corporate clients affected by cyber-attacks, state-sponsored espionage and data breach cases. Before her work with Stroz Friedberg, Ms. Nealy Cox served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, leading significant cybercrime prosecutions nationwide while also handling complex cases of white-collar fraud, public corruption and intellectual property theft. Additionally, she served as Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel to the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice in Washington, D. C. during the Bush Administration. In this capacity, she worked on high-priority legislative and policy initiatives for the Department of Justice.
